YMCA Outstanding Scholar Athlete Award, Presented by Nike SWIM

(Revised) As part of the YMCA's commitment to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, YMCA of the USA (Y-USA) and Nike SWIM are offering the YMCA Outstanding Scholar Athlete Award, Presented by Nike SWIM for one male and one female graduating senior who has been a YMCA swimmer for five years, competed in the National YMCA Short Course Swimming & Diving Championships for three years, maintained a grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 or equivalent scale during senior year in high school, and has plans to continue education at a university or junior college. Winners will be awarded $1,000 each to be issued directly to the athlete's institute for higher learning.

Athlete Representative to the Championship Meet Committee
The YMCA Swimming and Diving Advisory committee is pleased to announce the selection of an athlete representative to its Championship Meet Committee. The inclusion of an athlete representative on this committee brings the perspective of athletes to the issues processed by the committee.
The athlete member of the Championship Meet Committee will be Ben Creekmore of the Brandywine YMCA in Wilmington, Delaware. Ben, a sophomore at Archmere Academy, is a two time participant in Short Course Championships and a three time participant in Long Course Championships. Ben has been involved in YMCA swimming for over 10 years and has developed into a Mid Atlantic Swimming record holder. Ben was nominated by his coach Meredith Griffin.
We look forward to the contributions of Ben to our meet committee. The inclusion of an athlete representative on the meet committee continues the athlete role which was revived last year.

The Tournament Host Committee of Greensboro welcomes the Y Nationals to the Greensboro Aquatic Center and Tournament Town. As the new home of this event, we are launching a new program designed to assist each team participating in this year's event. Each team will be assigned a TEAM HOST who is a local contact to assist you with whatever your needs may be during your stay in Greensboro. The team host can assist your team with planning Team-friendly meals, catering needs, directions, places to take your teams during your stay and to be that contact in the event of an Emergency. You will be contacted soon by your team host to get acquainted with you and to see if you have any questions about Greensboro. Greensboro and Tournament Town eagerly await your arrival!!
